    The good is that the Titans were the only team willing to trade for him. (What, we don't know yet.)

    The bad is, they were NOT willing to let him play out his current contract ($6.65mil...last year of contract).

    The interesting....

    Did the Titans not want to keep him uner his current contract because they don't think he's worth 6.65mil this year? Or because they want him locked up for longer without risking a draft pick.

    I think if we offered a late rnd pick, they didn't wanna pay him the 6.65mil but if they offered a mid-rnd pick, they wouldn't give that up without getting him for a few years.

    I think this actually hurts our chances of getting him as a FA, but we'll see if anyone else offers him 6.65mil or more per year...

    Signing him as a free agent, how much would you be willing to pay him to come here? Keep in mind we definitely would be able to draft one of the top 6 WR's in the draft in rnd 1 if we wanted to.

    TO just signed for 6.5 mill, you have to think Holts market value would be less then that

    Actually, I'd say Holt's value is quite a bit more than that. Holt is a guy that doesn't destroy teams, is younger than T.O. and has more upside.
    He should get- and probably will get more money. We wont be paying it though. We know that much.

    Holt = Better Routes
    Holt = Faster.
    Holt = Younger.
    Holt = Better hands.
    Holt = not a locker room cancer.

    But sure, T.O. is better... 1 off year on a much worse team than T.O. played on doesn't make him worse. Especially considering the OTHER things T.O. brings with his skills.
    1 people high five this.

    Holt is not faster then TO or a better route runner man...TO may be a punk but he's still top 3 wide receivers in the league.

    He's a better route runner for sure. And I'm just guessing he's still faster.

    T.O is not a top 3 WR in the league....ludicrous....

    He is a great WR...but comes as a package. Hell, the pats got two WR better than T.O.

    We would have been stupid to trade for him without a new contract.

    $6.65M? try $7.9M because there is a roster bonus and add the pro rated SB hit on the cap. So we would be paying almost $8M out of pocket and a cap hit of $10M for a guy who would be a free agent in 2010.

    We knew that if he stuck to his guns the rams would release him anyway and we wouldn't have to give a trade pick and still would have a shot at him.
