Saying that Wes Welker is a better receiver then TO is absolutely ludicrous. I'm looking at this from a statistical standpoint. Wes Welker is a byproduct of Randy Moss and the Patriots scheme.

    1. Larry Fitz
2-4. Andre Johnson, TO, Randy Moss, in no particular order

Holt is on Vacation and will look at all his options when he gets back sometime next week.

Nothing is going to go down this weekend.

    add to this

    5-6 Steve Smith, Brandon Marshall

Welker is probably somewhere between 10-15.

    Tide...

Not so fast. I'm not sure the 6.65mil includes his 1.25 roster bonus, but almost always is included when they list his salary for this year. His prorated portion of his SB goes to the Rams...NOT us. It hits their cap, not ours.

So likely, he would have cost us 6.65mil this year and up to us to sign him for longer.

The 'problem' with not trading for him is his price could go up, we'd have to pay him a signing bonus (which we wouldn't have had to pay him outside of his 1.25mil bonus), and now we're in competition with the several other teams that might want him. It also gives him the choice of playing for a team like the Colts for cheap. He may not want to go to a run heavy team like the Titans. Heck, he could go to the Pats!!!

Holt is a better overall player than TO. Holt runs better patterns (though TO isn't bad), has better hands, is faster, and carries himself as a professional (read good with the media and in the locker room). TO is better at run blocking, breaking tackles, complaining, and destroying team chemistry! Holt is also several years younger...

    I'll take Holt, thanks.

Because Holt is younger. He has more left in the tank. T.O. will do nothing but decline. Holt also brings a great presence to the locker room.

I think people are ignoring what T.O. does to QBs... this shouldnt even be a debate based on that alone.

Holt's alleged drop of in ability based on his stats is open to question.

The Rams have had O line problems and few other offensive threats than Holt since 05.

Bulger has had really poor seasons for three years but a lot of that is because he's been poorly protected. The Rams have had Holt and Steven Jackson and that's basically been their whole offence.

The fact that Holt 'only' had 796 yards reflects more on the Rams than it does on him.He was still their #1 WR.

Last season they threw to 17 players out of desperation. The closest guy to Holt was a rookie followed by their RB.None of the other 14 guys even managed 300yds.They even tried & failed at the wildcat and threw to Bulger when Haslett took over.

Usually if a team throws to that many players they are leading the league in offence like the Pats and the Saints. The Rams were 27th in the league on offence. They were a joke under Linehan.
