according to profootballtalk.com the lions are willing to trade the number one pick. they where talking about cutler possibly going there. but...with the relationship we have/had with jimmy..do you think it would be possible to send VY there and maybe LW for the first pick in the draft? start over with a new qb...learn the system for two years behind collins then take over when KFC is done? do it the right way as opposed to the VY way? just a thought
Absolutely not. Having the number one pick is a bad thing these days. Teams want to get rid of it. It forces you to pay way too much money to an unproven player.
we don't even know how to act when we have the #3 pick...so why would we want the #1??? edit:1000th post
That would make no sense considering we have no major voids in any position. Sure we lost Haynesworth which blows but overall we are still pretty solid at every position.
We don't have anything we'd trade Detroit for the #1 pick. You wanna give up Roos? Griffin and a high pick? We're not giving up the players Detroit would want and we don't want the bill of a #1 overall when we don't need one...not to mention we'd have to give up a Pro Bowl caliber player who is a known commodity for an unkown one who will cost significantly more! We might have better luck with there 2nd or 3rd rnd pick...probably not their 2nd either! Gut
Yeah the only thing they would take is one of our top 5 players(Under age 30) and our 1st. VY and LW? Combined we might get a mid 2nd rd pick. Both would have to have new contracts.
