Greg Williams made a stand this year to have a shut down defense like he had when he coached here, and we lead the league in fewest rushing yards allowed...I believe it was 83 a game back in '99.

  2. You mean 83 was the most yards against us in a single game rushing?

I think Brown saw nothing but a wall and was waiting for something to open which never did.

True...and he's a vet...he's not going to get himself killed in the first preseason game. Henry is a rookie and trying to impress.

And the truth is that in a real game, if we're getting 8 men in the box every play - Chow isn't going to be calling Brown's number very often. That's where having 3 totally unique backs is nice - send Henry in with his speed to the edge, add a bootleg for VY and the middle of the field will soften up pretty quick.

you think it was our lines fault?

  9. Well, its pretty hard for them to open up holes with 8 men in the box. So i wouldn't say that its their fault.

Not particularly. Our OL wasn't getting a push and Hall was slamming into Fletcher or an OLB at the hole. The SS was hammering in there too.

I was praying for one of those handoffs to be tossed back to Collins for a deep pass but Chow appeared to be only working from the first three pages of the playbook.
