Isn't it weird that Lisa is the only one that aged?

The only instance of black cracking.

I think that Sanford and Son is on Nick as well, but I may be wrong about that. Redd Foxx was one of the funniest people I have ever watched.

I would also throw "The Jeffersons" into this mix. I always thought that show was funny (especially the early years) and they continued the Norman Lear pushing of the envelope with interracial relationships back in the late 70s.

Man, you gotta get some Fred Sanford in your life. You'll be better off for it. Show holds up very well.

I liked Martin when it was first airing but I was young. The few times I've watched it recently it didn't do much for me. Never watched Wayans.

Martin just didn't age well. Very dated.

To ignore this show because of a lack of fondness for older stuff is a small tragedy..
Redd Foxx was the real deal, black comedic genius and he let it rip on that show. Old school greatness. He didn't have to say a word to get a laugh.
And the first season had some great dramatic themes and performances as well. The first episode I think is kept in the Library of Congress..
Demond Wilson played a great foil as well. And then there was all of Fred's pals like Grady, Bubba, Leroy and Skillet, Melvin and even a grown Stymie from Little Rascals..
And then there was Aunt Esther..

Fred even dropped the N-Bomb from time to time..

Redd Foxx was a black version of my grandfather. Way before my time but S&S is hilarious.
