One: Reluctance or inability to trade down and play the draft board a bit. Two: Not drafting a QB in every draft. We had some great chances to trade down or out of our draft picks once again but, as usual, we stayed put and picked a player. I just wish we would try to play the board a bit like many other teams do to pick up additional picks. I was hoping we'd trade our 5th pick for a 4th next year or, honestly, any additional pick next year. Instead we take the 3rd DE from LSU, I dunno the guy could be good but I sure would have like to see us add some extra picks for next year in hopes of compensating for the 3rd we gave up. So often, good players slide, having extra picks would be a blessing under those circumstances. I truly feel that we should be drafting a QB every year, because you just never know. Could find a Tom Brady, could develop a Matt Flynn and have some trade bait, could bust. I'm not saying take a guy in the the 1st - 3rd, but using fliers on late round guys should be the norm. All that said I really do like our draft through Schwenke, but after that I'm pretty bummed. I'd have been much happier if we took a flier on Bray or Jordan Rodgers with our 7th, but all in all I'm very happy.
