Generalizations exist for a reason. And now you're just babbling, so let's let it die out before you just start using smilies.

And that reason is not as an excuse to not do your homework and act like you have.

There isn't much homework to do buddy. So far, Fowler sucks. Go ahead and "do the homework". Check his resume. Maybe he'll pull some magic and become good, but it's doubtful. If he's sucked for 3 years, he'll probably suck for 3 more.

I simply don't get why anyone would be down on a guy before he even gets a chance to prove himself. Here is what we know for sure about Fowler. He is a great STs guy and will be one of the better ones on the team. That is very significant. Secondly, they think he can be an upgrade as a run stuffer. Something else we desperately need. If they didn't have confidence Fowler would be an upgrade over Sirmon or Tulluch they wouldn't have brought him in. Let the guy play and then we can judge.

Gloat, you'd get a lot less criticism if you actually posted an old scouting report at least. Vague referrals to "knowledge" that "we" have about him generally make you sound like you're talking out of your @ss. A lot of players have struggled on the team that drafted them and benefitted from the change of scenery, system, whatever. We don't know what to expect from Fowler, and it doesn't help your cause that you admittedly haven't seen him play, but are willing to write him off. Yes, people on here tend to give our players the benefit of the doubt, and some people go way over the top sometimes (see the comparison to Zach Thomas earlier in this thread). However, the majority look for reliable past information (so post a link with your opinion, not your opinion as fact), but will wait and see what happens here. I think as fans we have to at least hope that our team makes some reasonable moves to make our team better. Otherwise we'd all be as bitter as most of your posts.

It actually got twisted as the thread went further. All I'm saying is: Tulluch has far more potential than Fowler. I think almost everyone would agree, so therefore playing Fowler only hinders the position and team. Fowler's potential doesn't give him much chance to be a big help, but Tulluch's does. Pretty simple.

Potential is nothing without production, look at Woolfolk, you don't play him because he has potential.

If Fowler beats out Tulloch it means he was simply not good enough.

Then there is Doug Flutie, Kurt Warner, Rod Smith, and Ed McCaffrey. These are just some major examples off the top of my head. There are plenty of minor examples where players don't get PT or do get PT and just aren't any good at the beginning of their careers and turn it around to at least be good starters.

Michael Jordan was cut from his high school team. Good thing everyone doesn't use Gloat logic.
