using social media to sell stuff

    Anyone here ever have success selling stuff through Facebook, Twitter ect, or using social media to drive traffic to your page/ online store?

    I've got some things on ebay I am trying to sell, but it hardly has any views ... any tips on how I can increase that traffic?

    I had an eBay store for a few years, sold about $30,000 in dead inventory from my company. If you weren't a Bridgewater hater I'd tell you what I did to get traffic...

    I've created Twitter pages to push traffic to products before, it's not too hard actually but annoying to keep up with.

    Yeah I've got a twitter, but not many followers ... I can link to my ebay, but not many people will see it lol.

    I need to get more followers that want to buy.

    I see you can pay to promote stuff on FB, but haven't tried that route yet.

    Ultimately I want to launch my own website and sell from there, so getting a lot of followers would help promote that in the future as well

    One thing I thought of was trying to target people that were attending big events. For example an upcoming convention or something that happened to have a demographic similar to what I am targeting .... however, I don't know how to use FB or twitter to specifically target those people.
