It was a nice place to live fifteen-plus years ago, back when the old world war veterans and old folk were still alive, sitting around the pot belly stove at the general store, shootin' the sh*t about anything. Back when I was a kid, you could leave your car running outside a convenient store, and not be worried about someone stealing it. Most everybody was trustworthy in one way or another, besides maybe bankers, lawyers, and car salesmen.

But now, it's just gotten horrible, you can't even leave a bicycle sitting outside your house unsecured without some jack off running off with it to the pawn shop.

I grew up around Lenoir City, greenback, and maryville, and bakc then, it wasn't so bad, but these days, All I see are Illegal Mexicans, and rich yanks around here. The crime here in LC ain't bad, but the cops are incompetent, and crooked. It's a better place to live than most, I mean, it's not Memphis, or Chattanooga, But still...

I wouldn't really wanna live anywhere else, scenery, and nature wise, you can't get much better, but the people seriously suck.

 

East Tennessee is the greatest place in the world.

I lived in the "psychological hellscape of big box stores and chain restaurants" for awhile and previous to that it was "butt chugging and football" followed by "a bunch of your friends probably live here"

 

Oh man, that's great, the closest thing i'm near is the awkwardly placed strip club, I always wondered.... how the HELL do you get to that thing?!

 

I live near Best Buy employees and at least two of my friends who live near by work at Best Buy.
