There wasn’t a college defender that mammoth guard Chance Warmack couldn’t overpower last year at Alabama, but he can’t rely completely on his strength in the NFL.

Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said Thursday that he likes what he sees from the team’s first-round draft pick thus far, but explained that the 6-2, 317-pound Warmack is in the process of improving his technique in pass protection.

“Chance has been a pro, and he’s an extremely strong man,” Loggains said. “It’s been good that he’s gotten a lot of work (in the OTAs) … because some of the bad habits he had in pass (protection), we’re able to see and fix.

“He has to keep moving his feet. At the college level, he was so strong that once he latched on, he was able to manhandle people. So he’ll have to continue to use his feet and improve that area of his game.”

Warmack, who was part of a punishing run-based offensive line at Alabama, said he realizes he needs to refine his technique in pass protection.

“Yeah, it’s just knowing who you’re going against and knowing the situations, as opposed to college where you can maybe get away with a few things,” Warmack said. “It’s just taking care of the little things and that will make you a better player.”

Speaking of rookie offensive linemen, Loggains also had praise for center Brian Schwenke, the team’s fourth-round draft pick in April.

“He’s a 330-pound man that runs really well,” Loggains said. “We threw a slammer screen to Kendall (Wright) the other day and Schwenke is out leading the pack. He’s really fast, so we’re excited about him.”

All I got out of this article is that throwing stupid screens to Kendall will still be a big part of the offense.

If there's one player that should be getting the screens, it's wright. However, I'd like to see some flashy, big play screens. Not the force fed screens for lack of a run game, like last year.

Having a C that can get out on screens and pull would be a huge plus so it is good to see Schwenke doing it. I think this kid can be a real player and very good C in the NFL.

So we know that Schwenke can run 2 yards well...
