Rounding off, the hit is 13 to 14 even if he is gone. He is due 10m under his contract this year. Why not give him a bonus of 12m and 1m salary a year for three years. This would be a cap hit of 5m this year and maybe dead money of 4m the next two years. 13m of his past bonus goes off the books for next year so we should be in good shape.

 

He won't sign a new contract with the Titans now that Vince Young is guaranteed to be his replacement by 2007.
