Probably not, I mean even the late round Centers making the Pro Bowl today didn't start playing well til years later. And I can't think of any 3rd round centers in the last 10 years who came in a started right away.

3rd round draft pick starting day one would be better than Amano starting one more day

Amano will be our starting C next year, get ready for it. I don't think Munchak will give him as much slack this year as he did last year though. 2-3 bad games will get him benched for the rookie (unless the rookie goes belly up in preseason/practice).

What is your logic behind this??? We've already brought in a few centers, and continue to look for others. There are a few good centers left in free agency that our coaches know are better than Amano, and they probably think this Jackson guy is better, as well. Our front office is not stupid. They will find a better center, and they will not continue paying Amano money he doesn't deserve. Whether it be a vet or a rookie replacing Amano, I see it as inevitable at this point.

We'll get a center in round 1 or 2. The round we don't take a center, we'll take a defensive lineman. With the potential signing of Asante Samuel, our front office will not look at CB as a big need in the draft. I don't really agree with that thought process, but that's how I think it will happen. A good defensive line can make a decent secondary look great.

Also, in the 2nd round it seems like we've started going best player available because generally some 1st round talent falls into the 2nd, but it's hard to say. Depends on who falls at what position.
