What unifrom are the Titans wearing Sunday?

That's a safe bet, considering 2/3 of the jerseys/pants we have are blue.
They did wear white at home for some reason in weeks 1-2. Dunno why.

 

In the past few years, there has been a trend for home teams to wear white for the first few weeks of the season. The thinking is that it's hot outside and it will give you an advantage if you are wearing white and your opponent is wearing their dark uniform.

For anyone wondering, this thinking is wrong. There is no evidence that it gives teams any advantage at all.

 

How about a bow tie and dancing shoes? Color is the least of our concerns.

 

They wear the white uniforms at home to keep the players from passing out from heat exhaustion. Come October you'll see the normal home color jerseys for home games. Dark colors retain heat, light colors reflect.

 

The Steelers defense didn't look too tired or hot in their black jerseys.

 

Their entire o-line looked beat. They were dehydrating and cramping up all game. Those black jerseys absorbed a lot of heat that day, and it did help us. Our players are acclimated to those hot southern days.

 

I like this explanation.

It starts to resemble all the quirky ideas they have in MLB but without a doubt it's not hurting the team wearing white.
