NFL Network stated after Berry was on the phone that the Redskins were still shopping Haynesworth for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. If its a 3rd round pick and the Lions are out since they drafted Suh, how do we not pull this trigger. Seriously.

    Not so fast my friend.......

    Fisherspeak:

“If you think about it, if there was the potential scenario. He is under contract, I have to clarify that,’’ Fisher said. “Our strategy would have changed in the first round if that scenario was available. Therefore, I think we can all come to the conclusion the door is shut.’’

    This from Shanahan:

“We don't have him on the trading block," Shanahan said of Haynesworth. "Does that mean we won't listen to anything that would happen? No. But it would be us listening. I would not anticipate him going anywhere unless he doesn't come to our [training] camp. I'm looking forward to him coming in and competing at different positions and seeing how he practices and helps our organization."

I believe we are seeing a lot of coach-speak by two very experienced coaches that understand the "gamesmanship" involved in dealing in the draft and trades.

Nothing about Fisher's comments make me believe this issue is any more laid to rest. Let's see what happens tonight and who is available for CB/KR before #77 comes up and who might be availabe at #97. I could still see us trading this year's #77 pick for AH.

I think we can get him on a 5th round and a 2011 conditional 3rd/2nd.
