What's the best strategy in "masking" our cornerback deficiencies?

Blitz and press. But we won't do it.

 

Dick has always been a zone blitz guy and I don't see that changing. Just don't put anyone in man to man with no help besides McCourty. He's the only guy I trust.

Have to blitz and often. Give DB #2 (whether that's Cox or another guy) help all the time. Like mentioned, Mccourty by himself may be ok. Since none of the LB cover very well anyway, might as well send them after the QB.

 

McCourty by himself might be okay as long as he is shadowing the other teams #2 reciever.

Leave him alone with recievers like Hopkins or Robinson, they'll have career days against him.

 

Blitz and press is only way. Reduces time for qb to throw and closes the early throw window on things like slants

 

Any of our CBs by themselves = we are ****ed.

If our pass defense is in the top 20, it's only because teams are running it down our throats.

Would've been nice to draft Mackenzie Alexander in the 2nd like I wanted, but it's whatever... Everyone talked about how the dude had no INTs in college. He had 2 in preseason. He's a good CB. We missed out.

Agreed, I wanted him instead of Dodd. Also wanted VHIII in the first, but glad we grabbed Conklin.

I think we will. DL is all about the blitz, and we have the front 7 that could do some damage.
