Well when you throw a slant youre asking the D to come closer to the LoS, something we dont want happening.

We run 5 main routes with concepts connected and a variation slant that sits down.

Curls, streaks, Ins. Outs and flags.

Slant, drag and post are missing for the majority of our plays.

I wonder why we don't throw slants to Washington and Wright? Seems it would be a reliable 8 yard play.

Well having a complete concept would help. There are route combinations that require a slant or drag to use as an under route. Drag right from a TE from the left side coupled with a deeper square In from the slot wr creates confusion and causes issues. Over the middle.

    We avoid the middle.

Our combinations have been clear outs turning into curls and slot guys doing underneath stuff on slant outs and shallow square outs to beat cover 2. Forcing a cover two under type defense so we can't nickel and dime them.

    Yes. It would be.

Lockers accuracy on those throws is sub par.

Also lockers favorite routes thus far are the curls, timing based. Can't fault em. And the flag routes to the TE. Still needs to get better at putting them on the spot.

We are also 30th from my last look - In YAC. The fact we don't throw to moving targets caused that

Yea but since we work the boundary to often.... It would help keep the defense honest and allow more opening to the outside... This isn't rocket science.

Its not and Loggains and still figuring this team out, he's still figuring himself out as a OC.

3 games is too few to really know what we can do.
