    Personally, I love cats, so my first vote goes to the cat and the name should be Smokey. But if you get 1 cat, you have to get 2 of them. However, those dogs look so adorable. Since you have a house, why not adopt the cat and the dog. Cats are virtually self sufficient. Long as you feed the cat, clean the litter box out everyday, they're good. It's the dog who will require a lot of time and care.

    So, I vote 1 cat and 1 dog. If I could sneak in 2 more cats into the house, I would!

    I have 2 dogs and a cat that we just adopted from the Human shelter...go with all three!!

    I said this in a reply that was deleted when we reinstalled the forum but I would spend as much time as allowed with all of them. Walk them (the dogs). Play around. See if the kennel has some background on them as some come from abusive situation or have been in accidents.

    There are some great sites on things to think about when adopting a pet. Since it is a 10-year commitment, it pays to think things through. And if they are a decent kennel, they'll want to check you out as well.

    The best dog I ever owned was adopted. I still miss that beagle.

    As for the name, go with a Titans HOFer and coach and call him "Munch". :yes:

    I have 2 dogs and a cat. It wouldn't be that bad. Just give your cat a nice hiding place if you plan on letting the dogs in.

    I have two dogs, a cat and a pair fantail goldfish.

    Dogs are great. Mine are so sweet it's sick.
    Dogs get so sappy when treated the right way.
