My real question (and the purpose of this thread is) using Whistenhunt's history of drafting RBs, which players in this class do you see as similar prospects? Based on history, which RBs do you see Whistenhunt targeting? I'm pretty confident we are going to use a pick on a RB.

2008: Round 5, overall 149: Tim Hightower, Richmond
2009: Round 1, overall 31: Beanie Wells, Ohio State
2011: Round 2, overall 38: Ryan Williams, Virginia Tech
2011: Round 5, overall 136: Anthony Sherman, UConn

Not a lot to be excited about, but who compares in this class, I'd say specifically, to those first 4?

That's not a bad resume of RB's coming out of college. Wells and Williams just can't seem to stay healthy, and Tim Hightower was serviceable.

Also, we really don't know who had the say so in drafting these RB's. HC have the most leverage, but I wouldn't say these are all Whisenhunt's guys.

Just goes to show you how hard it is to find great RBs...we had quite a few mehhhhs between EG and CJ. Or the unheralded guys who just want it more. Idk if anyone saw Jerry Rice football life but that dudes drive and killer instinct by far made up for his physical measurements. Or how many of us thought CJ was the next Chris Henry

Hyde gets drafted before we pick IMO. He goes early 2nd.

I like Devonta Freeman in maybe the 4th, he's an every-down back that runs hard and could work well with Greene.

D thomas, to mold into his woodhead role. Would also be a good returner early on for us. Would like to see mason get a dui and drop to us in the 6th or 7th
