The 2006 Steelers and 2008 Giants say hello.

Any team can win in the playoffs with luck and momentum. Having a pass happy offense is not a requirement of winning the Super Bowl. The best way is to have a balanced offence that can both run and pass the football with some degree of effectiveness.

Yeah, exceptions happen. Any given Sunday, blah blah blah. And Brady regularly admits to paying badly.
Countless times have I heard sports heads bragging on a team's win insisting "now this is how you play the game!... A solid defense and a solid running game!!..." only to have that team die in the playoffs.

BTW, Fisher is 7-7-1 this year. Balanced attacks ftw. Points have to be scored.

    Define die in the playoffs.

-- The Jets went to the AFC championship twice with this formula.
-- The 49ers went to the NFC championship series (beating the high octane Saints) with a great defense and running game. In fact, they would have gone to the Super Bowl had they not had their PR man 'Mouton' the game away.
-- Baltimore has made several runs deep into the playoffs with this formula.

At the end of the day there are a finite amount of 'elite' QBs in this league that can be trusted to throw the ball in these high powered attacks. We are throwing the ball more then we ever have and this our worse team we've ever had in Tennessee.
