Since 1994 NFL Season (20 seasons), only 7 franchises have been to the Superbowl on the AFC side. Since 2002 season, only 5 - the ones listed on the poll. The other two were the Raiders and us!

Is there any reason to believe some other team will represent the AFC in Super Bowl 50? Dolphins? Chargers?

Hate to say this, and I hope I'm wrong, but...

I see no reason at all to expect it to be a team other than the ones you listed.

I think Denver missed their window. And I don't think New England gets back. Don't really see Ravens or Steelers either. Unfortunately I have to agree with RSB and pick the Colts out of that group. I'd love to see someone new make it though.

Colts? Hell no lol, really surprised a smart guy like yourself would throw out such a lousy team.

Both of the Colts lines suck, no protection and no pass rush. Patriots own the Colts, so unless Brady is out in the playoffs, no chance for the Colts.

This is really an easy answer, and its the Patriots by a mile.

After the Pats theres a solid drop off. Bronco's, Colts, and Ravens are all grouped together, but none will upset the Pats.

Colts Defense= Doo Doo.....I say the Pats or Steelers. They always sneak into the playoffs and are disruptive.

Only team in the AFC that didn't take a step back was New England, Pitt is no better off today than last year, what makes you think theyre a Title team in 2015?

It's the Colts. Made it to the AFC Championship Game last year and have really improved their weapons on offense. Granted, Andre Johnson, and Frank Gore aren't what they used to be but they're still descent - plus add to that the kid from Miami they took in the 1st round (whose name escapes me) and I think they're legit contenders.

I agree with whoever said the Broncos have missed their window. It's closing fast and I think this is Peyton's last year.

Bingo and that was the point of this thread so you win the internet today.

Brady, Manning, and two well run franchises that had elite defenses and run games are the reason only 5 teams in the AFC have made the Superbowl since 2002 season. It's pretty amazing in the era of salary cap parody.

Dude, Jimmy G is going to take Brady's job in route to his first of a dozen SB victories!
