Why Are We Paying Craig Stevens $2.5 Million Per Year?

    He is making 2.5 million in salary this season plus a portion of his signing bonus which is around 1 million. All together Stevens will count 3.5 million against our cap and that number will go up to 4.4 million next season.

    If we cut Stevens next season then we will still owe him 2 million dollars but it will bring our cap number down 3.4 million in 2014 and 3.5 million in 2015.

    In that case, I think if we restructure his deal next season (GMs seem to do magic with all those numbers sometimes), we'd be able to keep him and reduce that number even more.... no?

    Yes but with Thompson becoming a better blocker and Walker being able to play FB we may want to just cut ties with Stevens.
