It made no sense when it happened and I haven't been convinced since.

It'll be interesting to see how he's utilized in this offense. When Murray had his best season in Dallas, he usually ran out of a single back sets. The Cowboys sometimes used the TE to lead block.

    Cranky Mubarak is reaching here.

While this UDFA may have looked "Solid" lead blocking in practice for a few days it does not mean the Fowler pick was a bad one. Fowler is already one of the better FBs in the league.

Sure you can get a grunt to lead block undrafted. If that is all he is good at though it is a complete waste. If he can't be a receiving threat then his his time will be very limited as NFL offenses need the FB to be a decent receiver. Also, since even the best FBs do not play too many snaps they need to be strong on special teams.

When considering how good webster was/is at drafting, getting a top 5 player at thier position in any round is a win. We definitely could have gotten fowler later or got a decent undated fb, but the fact is, dudes a really good fb. He will and should be used a lot more this year. He and henry already have some chemistry so we'll see them together quite a bit. People also seem to forget (because of last year horrible coaching), that fowler is a pretty good runner and a good receiver (reminds me of a young d walker).

That 2 point conversion try against the Colts.. Ouch

Honestly, I like Fowler and expect bigger things from him. Could be another Ahmard Hall.
