Going to be a while before anything interesting happens so with that being said..

The Raiders and Derek Carr are close to a deal that projects to be about $25 million per year.

Derek Carr had the 16th ranked QBR @ 62.1 throwing 28 TDs with 6 picks and 5 fumbles
Started off 0-10 and has went 22-15 since giving him a 22-25 record with 0 Playoff Wins.
Strong offense built around him with a good O-Line.
Surrounded with proven weapons such as Cooper, Crabtree, Lynch, & Jared Cook.
    Ended season with Injury
Raiders also have to look to pay Cooper & Khalil Mack a big amount

Mariota had the 12th ranked QBR @ 64.9 throwing 26 TDs with 9 picks and 9 fumbles
Started off 3-9 and has went 9-7 since giving him a 11-16 record with 0 Playoff Wins.
Strong offense built around him with a good O-Line.
Surrounded with proven weapons such as Matthews, Decker, Murray & Delanie Walker.
    Ended season with Injury
Titans also have to look to pay Taylor Lewan a big amount & are one of the more frugal teams in the NFL.

This is not me trying to compare who is better, but this is simply asking if Mariota will be getting about $25 million or possibly even more since his numbers & impact are so similar to DCs.

He will get more. Cap will go up, it's just the way it works.

Unless he regresses to the extreme or keeps getting hurt.

Mariota hasn't made it to the playoffs and Carr has. He won't get as much or more. He will get probably between $15-20M a year.

We can only hope Mariota plays at a level that makes the Titans want to pay him more than Carr's getting.

Mariota is a team first guy. Will take the league minimum, IMO

I think he takes a team friendly deal. Will still get a lot, but his personality and desire to win will cause him to take less than he could get.
