Second round is tough, because anybody from about 10th and beyond on the big board could be there.

    I REALLY like Jesse Williams.

It's got to be Elam if he is there. Incredible value. If not, then Barrett Jones or DJ Fluker. OL has to be a top priority.

Klug has nothing locked down. He will need a good camp to stick around.

I think we are most likely to take a DT in the 1st, but the depth of the DT class makes me think that a pretty solid one will still be around when we pick in the 2nd rnd.

It seems to me that hard hitting safeties who are slightly limited in coverage tend to fall in the draft so it wouldn't surprise me at all if Elam were on the board when we pick in the 2nd.

I would love to draft Amerson from NC State and turn him into a safety. Their are a couple of other big CBs who might be better off at safety as well.

If we don't go O-line in the 1st, Barrett Jones will be the pick unless someone "reaches" for him in the 1st (he's a projected 2nd but I think has 1st round talent).

If we do go O-line in the first I really like Jonathan Banks from Mississippi State. A whole side of my family went to MSU so I watched almost all of their games this year and I promise you, he's the best CB in this class. He just doesn't play on a National Championship team and isn't as hyped as Millilner. Banks makes plays and is all over the field. UT fans might remember when he stripped the ball from the guy and fell on it during the UT game this year. He does that kind of thing ALL the time. He is fantastic in coverage and if he drops, he could come in and start day one and we could move Verner back to CB.

I love Banks. I think he is going to have to fail a drug test, run a 4.6, and roll his ankle to go 39th or later.

The more I think about it, the more I think they go OL in round 1. The jobs of the current regime are tied to the development of Jake Locker. He can't develop if he keeps getting hit and messing up his shoulder. Improving his pass protection and also improving the run blocking are the most direct ways to foster his development.

That leads to Elam in round 2, if he's there. However, I think SS is a position that the team could try to address in free agency (maybe LaRon Landry). If so, then the pick would be best DL available. Don't know who at this point. It's a deep DL draft and the team can easily find one they like.

We're going to be in great shape for this draft. Deep classes at DE, DT, OG, S and C. No reason why we should reach in any of the first four rounds to pick a guy who will help us in 2013.

Things could easily shake out like:
    1. Beojrn Werner
    2. Jonathon Cooper
    3. Jordan Hill
    4. Shawn Williams

    Or
    1. Sheldon Richardson
    2. Dallas Thomas
    3. Brandon Jenkins
    4. Shawn Williams

    Or
    1. Chance Warmack
    2. Sharrif Floyd
    3. Corey Lemonire
    4. Tharold Simon

The amount of combinations of this draft that could help this squad is almost endless. We lucked out this year.
