Would you trade VY for Mario?

Regarding the debate, I could go either way.

Realistically, in my mind, VY has another year or two in Tennessee to prove himself, and I think he'll do just fine next year. Yes, I think Collins goes elsewhere after this year, and whereas I'm sure the Titans wouldn't mind retaining him (nice problem to have), I'm sure this is the kind of praise in part you effuse during the season to keep the machine chugging. I think we're basically fine at DE for the short term and the next few years....

....as long as we have KVB. So here's the converse. As long as we have KVB and he plays at a high level, we're good, but how many more years will that last? Two or three? Will this year mark a gradual decline in production and a break-down of his non-stop motor? This year has solidified once again the Titans are a defensive team and I advocate re-signing Haynesworth regardless of what goes on or must go on with VY. A though occurred to me some time ago and now's a good time to share it. I'll always prefer to have Vince as our quarterback, but I'm pretty sure next year Donovan McNabb will leave Philadelphia and be looking for a team he can plug into and go right to the Super Bowl. I am positive the Titans would top his list. Imagine how easy the demands of running this offense would be for him given the west coast style he has to run in Philly. Something to think about should Vince take one more major step backward, which, if he did and the Titans rightfully moved on, I'd take what value I could get for him, sure, take Mario yeah yeah whatever or whatever player necessary to flat-out stack that defense, Ray Lewis with Haynesworth, sure, get McNabb and give him a Lance Moore or TJ. McNabb is definitely a QB who appreciates a great defense and running game, and is used to playing with no-name receivers.

Just a thought....

 

How in the world could we pay McNabb? If we could do that we would have kept McNair.
