WR Carter visits Titans

Big mistake if we sign him. Calico redux.

 

He played in 16 games last year and caught 38 catches for 517 yards with 4 TDs. He only started 7 games. I'd say the potential is there to be at least similar to Gage.

My thinking is some of these guys like Gage or Carter are WRs who have been developing like many WRs do in this league. By signing them cheap just before they are ready to break out we could get a solid #2 or maybe a guy who could even break out into a #1 like Mason did but get them at half the cost of simply signing a more heralded guy. Assuming we draft a 6'4, 4.4 guy in the draft it might take 3 years for the guy to really hit his stride anyway so maybe MR's strategy to go after guys like Carter isn't a bad way to go if we think they have potential. Sure beats using a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a guy who doesn't do aquat for three years if ever.

Add in that this guy could really fit Ding's system and maybe he is a nice addition.
