So Britt's contract is up after next year I think. He is supposed to be our #1 WR and when healthy he can be a stud. I did not see any burst from him this year and am concerned about whether he ever will regain it. Got a feeling we are dealing with another Calico. I hope he comes back next year and shows he can be the playmaker that he was pre-injury. If this happens then we are going to have to pay him good money to keep him around. So either this year or next year we are going to be signing someone to a long term WR contract. Would you rather pay Britt after next yr or go ahead and pay for a #1WR this yr in Bowe, Jennings, or Wallace. Personally I would give a serious look to the FA market. Instead of spending my money on Cook, I'd look to one of these. They are all fairly young and still very productive. If Britt doesn't return to #1 WR form or continues to get into trouble then you let him walk next yr and you still have your #1 WR. If Britt returns to playmaking form then you can either try to work a long term deal with him or franchise tag him. I certainly realize that WR is not a need for our team right now, but if Britt doesn't return to form then it will be a priority. I would consider using the money that you might give Cook to one of these WRs instead.
