Titans receiver Kendall Wright returned to the practice field on Friday after missing earlier in the week with concussion-like symptoms.

Wright is expected to play on Sunday against the Chargers.

Wright missed practices on Wednesday and Thursday after developing a headache, stemming from a hit he took from Texans defensive back Kareem Jackson in Sunday’s game in Houston, earlier in the week.

Coach Mike Munchak and Wright both said on Thursday the second-year receiver needed to see another doctor before getting cleared.

Wright leads the Titans with nine catches for 65 yards.

Right tackle David Stewart (calf) was not on the practice field during the open portion of practice Friday, and neither was defensive tackle Sammie Hill (ankle), running back Shonn Greene (knee) or cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson (hamstring).

Titans wide receiver Kendall Wright had a busy Friday.

He reported to the team facility at 7:15 a.m. for a concussion test then went to Saint Thomas Hospital to see a neurologist. The results were good.

“I don’t have a concussion,” Wright said with a smile. “I’m good to go.”

Wright, who took a hit to the head from Texans defensive back Kareem Jackson in last Sunday’s game, missed practice Wednesday and Thursday after developing a headache on Tuesday.

He said all week he felt fine, but the Titans followed concussion protocol.

Wright practiced Friday and said he had no issues. He’s listed as probable on the injury report for Sunday’s game against the Chargers.

Wright leads the Titans in receptions with nine for 65 yards.

“I feel like we are real close to busting out,” he said. “I feel like it is going to happen, and I am hoping it happens on Sunday.”

Personally I'm ready to see him start getting more snaps than Britt. I think he is our most explosive WR and we need to make a better effort to get him the ball in space. I love that they have been using him on screens and trying to get him involved, but he needs even more opportunities because he is that good.

I am really hoping locker can connect with this guy on a lot of passes.... deep and short. I think Wright and Washington can lead this team in receiving this year. I have a feeling today would be the day to see them throw it a bit against that Defense!

That's not the role we are using him in. Stop dreaming while you're ahead.
