I don't know how true this is, i havent been able to talk to my friend who help runs Teamxbox.com. but this is all the buzz right now. I think it's to soon for a new 360 revealing. We will know more on June 6th at E3.




Develop source: New Xbox console on desks at EA

New system could steal Wii 2’s thunder with shock E3 reveal

The successor to the Xbox 360 console is on desks at an unnamed Electronic Arts studio, Develop understands.

The new hardware, sent to EA last month, is a very early build with no casing – it is in fact being stored inside a PC shell.

EA developers are getting to grips with the tech to create first-generation software, Develop has been told.

“Quite often when new consoles come around they’re packaged into a PC shell, but actually what’s inside is an entirely new console,” a senior, trusted, well-placed said.

Microsoft has declined to comment. EA has declined to comment. Develop’s source is not employed at either company.

The source believed, but did not have certain information, that the new Xbox would launch by the end of 2012. The individual expects an announcement will be made, at least in some form, at E3.

EA said it wasn't true. Worth about as much as the words but way to early for one to come out.

They might have an early model for development but it doesn't mean we will see a new Xbox next year.

I hope not! I can't afford to buy a new console every couple of years. I'm lucky to buy 2 new games a year.

Screw that get some good games for the kinect.

The 360 came out almost 6 years ago.

Just because they might have a pre-production prototype available for developer testing does not mean that it will be anywhere near a final product

I remember scrambling around the entire county at 3am looking for an XBOX 360 the day it was released. Ended up finding the last one at a TOYSRUS 2 towns over.

Regardless, I still can't afford to buy the new Xbox 720 that will inevitably cost $700 when it comes out.

I fell ya. I could probably swing it, but would it be worth it... I only play Madden, and no other video games. I'd almost have to buy another game or two just not to feel like a fool for spending hundreds of dollars for an hour or two here and there of gaming. Those are hookers rates!
