I think the real question should be what the linebacker class looks like in the later rounds or what it looks like next year.

Why do people keep mentioning Akeem Ayers as a DE on passing downs?!!! If they are referring to the article I am thinking of, the coach didn't infer that. He said he would be used as a pass rusher in certain situations. That doesnt mean that he will have his hand down, but that he will probably rush from the LB spot.

And I would love to draft Dont'a
I would love a draft with
    1) Dont'a Hightower
    2) Brandon Thompson/ Vinny Curry
    3) C Black or Mock
    4) S Janzen Jackson/ Best DT available/ WR Nick Toon

Funny you post about him, because I was just going to create a post asking you guys to post the ONE guy you want at 20. Needless to say, I was going to pick Hightower. I just love this guy, I don't know sometimes you get a feeling about a player, I just think he's gonna be an amazing player that would really help us stuff the run up the middle.

I really do feel that if he's on the board at 20 were gonna take him. This current regime covets solid football players that offer versatility. Hightower can play all over the defense, hell he can put his hand in the dirt and play DE in some situations. Funny thing is the guy is very similar to Ingram, size/speed wise. 6'2, 265 and runs 4.62 that's not exactly slow for in ILB of his size. I think this guy will be a Pro Bowler for years.

I would be totally down. It's hard for me to pinpoint a guy I really like in this draft. I would only upset if we took Poe or Gilmore. Otherwise I am happy leaving it up to the FO to take the guy they feel is the best player. I don't think I will upset with whoever we take and Hightower seems like he will be a good one.

To be honest though, what I would be most happy with is Brockers in the 1st, Zach Brown in the 2nd, best DE in the 3rd, and Blake or Brewster in the 4th. That would make me a happy happy man.

I dunno, seems like that's more of a "fingers crossed" kind of draft. You'd be hoping Brockers develops a pass rush and Brown shows that he's actually a good football player, not just an amazing athlete.

Give me, 1st Hightower, 2nd Mike Martin and 3rd Molk and I'd be much happier.

IMO High tower is a good enough football player and athlete to play WLB in our defense. We play an Over front wich means Hightower playing WLB would be playing MLB in a sense. He'd line up over the Guard. On run plays he would "scrape" to the football preventing the cutback. He is very good at blitzing thats without his hand in the dirt. Alabama ran a complex defense which you need players to be instinctive and versatile Hightower, Barron, and Upshaw any of them would be great for our pick at 20

    I thought that too.

Their D's tick me off enough in Madden as it is, as if i want to give them another guy i have to avoid at all costs.
