We need PP because Peterson is the only 100% elite level talent in this draft. At 220 lbs his 4.34 forty translates directly into game day speed. If we take Peterson and transition him to a safety I believe that he will have a HoF career for us.

We need Peterson because the NFL is beginning to move towards having big, athletic pass catch TE's; players such as Cook, Gates, and Finley are going to be the next breed of weapons that every offense will want to have. As such NFL defenses will be looking to find players that can match up against them. Peterson can match up against these types of guys perfectly as a S as he is big enough and physical to avoid being overwhelmed (as a CB would), athletic enough to run with them stride for stride (which no LB can do), and possess man coverage skills that would be capable of locking down these types of weapons (skills other safeties do not possess).

Those are just thew two reasons that popped off the top of my head, I am sure I can think of more. If Peterson is available a #8 overall and the Titans do not take him then it would be a draft day screw up on the scale of the Dyson/Moss and Woolson/Asumugh(sp?) incidents.

    It's Woolfolk lol.

I agree it would be a huge mistake to pass on him. Don't forget Pacman Jones over Aaron Rodgers.

Neither was RB when we took CJ. Our "need" was WR, and everyone was screaming for Devin Thomas. Best player available FTW.

That, and our pass defense numbers tell a very different story about our needs at DB.

    8.) Lights Cameron Action Newton

My 8 are based on players with the least risk. Cam makes the list simply because of upside, Bowers ranked lower because of his health questions, and Quinn doesn't make it due to not playing. Von Miller was also left off because I see little to nothing besides a great outside speed rush.

Fairley (motivation/attitude), Bowers (health), and Newton (dumb project QB) are all risks.

Agree 100%, but the reward outweighs the risk. The juice is worth the squeeze. Say Fairely is a head case and never reaches his potential. His potential is so high, it doesn't matter if he ever finds his ceiling. Fairley at 70% motivated is better than 90% of the DT prospects coming up. Now take Bowers knee. Watching him on film, he doesn't look all that fast to begin with. He's quick and explosive in the trenches, but once he penetrates 5+ yards, he's volnerable just like most DT's. Keep in mind, Quinn is off because he didnt play last year. I had to have a DE on my top 8.
