    If we could get someone in the draft like Chris Rainey, that’s the only way I’d be ok with letting MM go. He’s descent at returning but I do wish he had more speedy. Rainey would not only be a faster return guy, he could come in and help on offense much more than MM could. If we did land Rainey, or someone like him, I wonder what another team would offer us for MM?

    He was ranked 13th in KR yards an had a 20+ average.

    He was ranked 4th in punt return yards 11th in average.

    Once again stupid topic is stupid. There is nothing wrong with Mariani the KR/PR. If you want to criticize Mariani on his receiving skills be my guest but he is a very good return man.

    who cares what he ranked in KR yards or PR yards. Average is more important but not even as important as you make it out to be.

    He gets some of the best special teams blocking I've ever seen yet he can't do much with it besides get drilled by kickers.

    What's important then? The only two players who had more than one punt return for a touchdown last year were Patrick Peterson and Devin Hester.

    Crazy how quickly we forget how bad it hurt us when we didn't have anybody on the team that could field a punt. He's sure handed. That's the most important thing. And I think he still has potential as a wideout.
