What You May Not Know About Mariota

    You overlook a quality about Mariota that few quarterbacks in the league possess and it is why teams do not make the playoffs. Top rated QBs fail every year because they don't have what Mariota has. As he has shown time and time again in the past, Mariota has a tremendous will and ability in pushing himself and doing the impossible, and that is simply staying mentally focused and coming back to beat an opponent. He challenges himself to perform at a higher level, he has it in him, the drive to excel and win. Last year was a terrible year for him, but what? He spearheads the titans to the playoffs? You should ask yourself how could a QB perform so poorly and yet still make the playoffs?

    The analysts on tv are ex football players and their heads have been banged around in those helmets for far too long. I mean they couldn't identify the real reason the titans were in the playoffs if you showed them, hello right? That is how uninterested they were in the Tennessee Titans, but we fans know better, right? We know something about Mariota that the so-called experts do not know. Do we then do what they do? Should we sandblast the reason why Tennessee made the playoffs?. They picked on Mariota up one side and down the other, do we do the same thing?? Are we as numb and dumb as they are? I mean these people jumped off the cliff and brainwashed everybody about how bad Mariota was and not once did they tell us the truth about him. They didn't know the truth because they couldn't handle the truth. Now they may think that Tennessee is a goofy place to play football and that Mariota is a kid in the lions den but it shouldn't change our opinion. Tennessee is not only a great place to play football but Mariota is the real deal.

    Now I know how you all like to talk about football and all and how you want this and want that but let me tell you, if you get rid of Marcus Mariota there is a 99.9% chance that the Titans will never see the playoffs again. You got yourself a winner, an overachiever who can single handedly spearhead this team to the playoffs every year. Lets not step in cow manure, shoot ourselves in the foot and then cut it off. The titans may never have this chance again.

    Marcus was mediocre his first two seasons. Which was fine. He was a young qb. Mediocre is a fine place to start.

    Last year, he took a step back. I, like most, put a lot of the blame on the bad system we had.

    So far this year, he’s looked like hot garbage. I am, for the first time, seriously looking at life past mariota.

    He has to prove to me he’s worth renewing. So far, I’ll pass.

    He wasn't mediocre in his first or second year.

    3400 yards 26-9 TD:Into ratio is a damn good year.

    It's still early, but I'm not seeing anything to change my mind that coaching wasn't the problem last year and the offensive scheme was designed to protect Mariota and minimize his mistakes.

    Go look at Mariota's hit charts. Defenses know that he is bad on throws beyond 10-15 yards so they don't fear this and can play the run and short passing game more aggressively.

    I am done with Marcus. I cannot do this anymore to myself. He looked great the first two drives, then gets popped in the mouth, then folds. Davis stops, he throws deep, just sick of it.

    Welp, we live or die with him this season anyway. I think the good news is the rest of the nfl probably sucks just as bad. So we have a chance. But he's done nothing to give me the feeling he can win a championship.

    Which top rated qb's fail to make the playoffs??? MM is inconsistent. In order to win we need someone who 1. Can throw accurate or 2. Have a strong arm and get it to our players. MM has neither. He is a game manager and the only way we can win with him is run the ball 25+ times and have him throw 5-15 yrd passes and hope our players make plays. When that doesn't work and we depend on his throwing ability or running ability he either 1. Throws an interception 2. Fumbles 3. Gets hurt.
