Yeah, this case was disgusting. I realize he was just a kid when this happened, still is a kid.. and as a kid he's bound to make really stupid decisions. Unfortunately in this case, he killed some folks.

Our justice system is funny in America, a person circumstances can be the difference between life in prison and 10 years probation. Had this kid been middle or lower class (god help him if he's black) .. he'd be an old man before he ever got out of prison.

When we sentence people.. we seem to only know two extremes. Way way WAY too much and virtually nothing at all.

Obviously none of this was intentional. It legitimately was a tragedy caused by bad choices. He definitely should be doing some time for manslaughter, but I think at some point in his life, only after he has matured, we should have revisited his case and consider giving him another chance.

Thats not what happened though, he was in large part responsible for the death of four people and the system told him that he was too good for punishment. This is how monsters are created.
