BAND WARS: Blue Oyster Cult vs Yes

Asia was better than Cult as well.

 

Asia didn't have much chemistry but my God!!!! I don't want to hurt your feelings but Buck Dharma is a dime a dozen player. You can get guys that good at any club.

Cult had a few radio hits but their sound is very primitive and lacks any originality. Maybe you should have had a band war with Cult and Mahogany Rush. That would be more fitting.

It's really sad that you can put four progressive rock heavies together and create nothing but reverb-polished dog squeeze. And as the years go by, I'm seeing that Carl Palmer- once hailed as the greatest rock drummer in the world- really wasn't any better than a grade school jazz trio drummer. Sounds to me like the self-taught Phil Collins could mop the floor with him.

 

Ugh.

A friend tried to turn me on to them, and I found them repulsive; It's like an Yngwie Malmsteen blues band.

BTW, the matchups have basically been based on first and last in the alphabetical list, except where additions have been made to the roster along the way.

 

as long as we are talking about it, what if next year there is a big ole list and let people have say 7 votes, top 64 bands make the war.
