I know a lot of us have always wondered where The Simpsons takes place. Some of us have spent days discussing where Springfield could and couldn't be, but the mystery has finally been cracked. http://tv.yahoo.com/news/-simpsons--springfield-location-revealed.html
Had to be on one of the coasts because they went to the beach all the time. I always figured somewhere in New England because A. snow B. mountains/hills C. beach and in one episode the family drove from New York back to Springfield. The people who said Ohio obviously never watched the show. No way it was in middle America.
LOL there are a zillion revelations in episodes that that state would NOT be were they lived. Not to mention the fact that they already stated in an episode that they did indeed live in Kentucky.
Springfield Gorge could never be on the east coast. Nor could the desert that Marge and Ruth drive to in the "Thelma and Louise" spoof episode. Ohio is just as good of a guess as any.
dont forget that Milhouse declared Springfield 'Titans country' when those evil viking fans from Ogdenville invaded
Doesn't sound like it's revealed. Sound like he is just saying where he got the name and mentions it's the most generic name in the US. Besides when was the last time anyone watched this show? 15 years ago when it was still almost watchable?
What Cruds said. And saying "it was NAMED for _____" is quite different than saying "it IS ______". When I first saw this headline yesterday I was baffled, and kind of peeved honestly, that Groening would reveal the location of Springfield after so many years of ambiguity. Then I actually read the quotes are realized it was much ado about nothing.
