I read through that article just a bit ago, look at his quotes (from Tennessean.com)
    • “I have never been a big fan of the two-back system, so I don’t know how we plan on using him,” Johnson said casually.
    • "I’m not afraid of competition, but I was thinking we’d maybe get a draft pick for the other back. And you don’t give a guy that kind of money to be just a goal-line guy and in tough-yardage situations. So we’ll see what happens.”
    • “I’ll just roll with it. Of course I don’t want to carry the ball 30 or 40 times a game,” said Johnson, who averaged 17.25 carries per game last season.
    • “And I don’t mind a guy getting a carry or two. But if I am the main guy and it is supposed to be my team … it shouldn’t be an issue.”
    • “That was cool my rookie year coming in,” Johnson said. “But me being the type of guy I am, I wouldn’t necessarily want to go back to a role like that. But that’s not my decision — I am not the head coach or the GM — so I just have to deal with what they give me. It’s all right."
    • “At the end of the day, I think there’s a chance it could turn into some controversy, but that is nothing to worry about right now. I am hoping for the best.”
I don't know, not the biggest fan of what he said. I understand what he is saying, but perhaps he coulda said it better maybe. Either way, I'm not going to read too much in it, but I think he coulda answered more along the lines of a 'team player' than a 'my team' player..

I don't care, I think he is taking it like a baby, if he hadn't been boom or bust last year we likely would not have even picked up a back out of free agency.

Cj gotta watch his step. He might be guaranteed his money this year but the next we could dump him just as well.

CJ says stuff like that but how many times was he calling for the other back last year when he was gassed?? I remember pretty often.

Someone needs to sit him down and show him some history. Most NFL RBs start declining after the number of carries he and Greene have had. Many would say CJ has already started. Both can extend their careers this way.

They could also remind :cj: of his own history. He was more productive when splitting carries with Lendale White.

Maybe we can trade :cj: to St. Louis so Fisher can overwork him and shorten his career. Much like what happened with Eddie George.

Yep, CJ likes to talk ... what else is new?

This doesn't really bother me too much. He probably was a little surprised that they went out and targeted a running back, and his ego might be a little hurt, but I am sure he will get over it come TC.

I think this will make CJ a better player though. While his ego makes him say things like this sometimes, it will also drive him to not take a back seat to another player on the team. CJ will have more motivation to prove himself now because he can't handle not being the best on the field (ever notice how he seems to play better when the opposing RBs are having a good day?). I think it is a win-win.

    Wow.

What is it CJ's 6th year in the league? He should know better than to make comments like that at this point in his career. But of course I'm not surprised one bit. He has a history of saying the wrong things at the wrong time.

And I think its funny that he says it could become a controversy. CJ2K.... worried about Shonn freaking Greene causing a RB controversy. This is the same guy who's constantly yammering on about 2,000 yards? Seems to be a disconnect there. Why is a guy who thinks he's good enough to get 2,000 yards worried about a guy who's never been anything more than average as a starter?

Oh well, better get to work CJ... and 'tings like dat.
