i no it will depend on how Big Al plays for them skins, but what would be your guys' guess as to what we might get for him as compensation?

very rarely does a team let go of the best defensive player in the league.

The only precedence I know of is the 49ers giving a 5th round pick to Chicago for tampering with Lance Briggs... but SF never actually got Briggs. So based on that, what SHOULD happen if the allegations can be proved is the Titans get 5th rd picks from Giants and Bucs (or whoever these "other" teams are), and maybe a 4th or 3rd from the Skins. I can't see Goodell awarding a 2nd rd pick for tampering - since the consensus is it goes on all the time.

What I'm expecting from the fearless NFL leader is a minor fine for the Skins, and maybe a 5th rd pick. Enough to look like he cares, but not so much that it really hurts Mr Snyder.

He's talking about the compensation (draft picks) that teams get from the league for letting guys go in free agency.

He's not talking about tampering or anything related to that.

I think he's talking about compensatory draft picks, which are awarded for letting players walk via FA. It has more to do with the importance of the player to the team that let him walk. I think we got a fourth or fifth round compensatory pick for Drew Bennett for example, and he didn't do anything for the Rams. Same with Odom, Laboy, and a lot of other players the Titans have let finish their contracts and test FA. For another example, assume we cut Chris Henry. He signs with another team, and he learns vision and pass blocking (yeah right), and goes on to have a monster year, we still wouldn't be awarded anything. He was at the bottom of our depth chart when he was cut.

As far as the tampering case, it's still ongoing.

I think they should all compensate us draft picks. :)

I wouldn't be surprised though if this is just a way for Goodell to say, "Yeah, there was tampering, but I can't do anything about it". Would it be fair to punish the Redskins, and not punish the other teams that tampered?

I would be happy with a 5th round pick from this ordeal...
