I love that Ryan's response to being fired was "I'll be out of work for like 5 minutes." Seriously.
Boy, they have no shortage of arrogance.
I wanted Ray Horton as DC. But, it's unlikely now... he will probably go to DAL if ARZ doesn't retain him.
Also, those #s are misleading. In 2011 he took over the Cowboys, D. In 2011 the Cowboys were one of the worst defenses, in one year, he took them to 16th. Sure, he was 23rd this year, but he had 5 starters on IR and other significant injuries. In 2009 he inherited the Browns D, 21st his first year (improving), then in one more year got them to the 13th best defense. Prior years were with the Raiders, where he didn't do great.
Sure, he didn't have a magical Wade Phillips turn around. But, his teams also didn't bring in a JJ Watt and Johnathan Joseph the same year.
Don't be fooled my friend, those teams we played the 2nd half of the season sucked.
Sure Jerry Gray can tango with the Dolphins and Jags, but we don't get to play those teams every week.
That would be nice if it were to workout that way, but Jerry Gray is scared to call man and or blitz.
He must have low T, that would explain his play calling, he's got no balls.
I could be wrong but I think a lot of our sacks came against the Jags and/or when there were 5+ rushers sent. For the D to be succesful we need to be getting serious pressure with the front 4 in my opinion. Im not opposed to Rob Ryan but his arrogance doesnt really fit in with the rest of the staff. Could be a refreshing change of pace and we have potential 3-4 system players on the roster as is so options are open to any co-ordinator.
I think we got 12 or 13 sacks against the Jags in both games.
His teams as DC have never been to the playoffs.
Fishface hired Ryan.
