One thing I will point out is that most everybody agrees that Kurt Warner is a Hall of Famer. If you check out his numbers, he only had five "Superstar" seasons throughout career. In fact, he only had six seasons where he started 11 or more games. Granted, he was a two time MVP, but numbers-wise, Brees is not very much different from Warner. And Brees still has a lot of games left in him.

If it was decided today, I think he would get in. He is always going to be remembered as the guy that brought the Saints to the top after Kartrina, and I think that, along with his numbers and his Super Bowl MVP award, is probably enough to get him in.

Gunny hit it on the head though. If Brees wins a league MVP award he is a lock for the hall.

I've had Manning, Brees, and Rivers for the past several years.

I have Manning on one team and Brees on the other this year.

Brees was a massive risk because of his shoulder surgery. I think that was the year we tried to trade for Daunte Culpepper and he said no (thank god for that).

I agree but Floyd Little made the hall and his numbers are not spectacular.

I think Brees is a HOF QB based on what i expect him to do. We expect several more 4000 yard seasons with a 90+ passing rating.

Brees is not that much younger than Manning and Brady so there is no guarantee he will produce longer than them but if he stays healthy he will make it.

Both are almost certain to make the hall so you make no sense. Bettis will be in next year and Martin in 2012.

What does that mean they have no fame?

I wouldn't put Collins in the HOF, but when you begin adding stats to justify HOF status, Collins has numbers too. Collins is third among active QB's in passing yards with something just under 40,000. Brees only has something like 30,000 yards. So don't feed me numbers. At this point Vince Young has more memorable plays than Brees. Can we send Vince to the HOF?

No one but yourself is comparing Collins to Brees. I never said that.

IDK I honestly think Manning has done more to prove he's Hall-worthy than Brees, regardless of what ESPN or anyone else says. Peyton has thrown for 4000+ yards AND led his team to the playoffs 10 out of his 12 seasons in the NFL. That's absolutely amazing IMO. Also he's been league MVP 3.5 times. Brees on the other hand has led his team to the playoffs only 3 times in his career. I realize he has typically been on worse teams than Manning but it is what it is. Speculating what Brees would've done with the Colts and what Manning would've done with the Chargers/Saints would be pointless since we'll never know for sure.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking Brees at all. He's easily one of the top 3 QBs in the game right now. I just don't think he's accomplished quite enough to be HoF-worthy at this point. I'm actually pulling for him to get there as I do really like the guy. I simply don't think he's there yet.

In this era where the game and rules are built around the offense, and the passing game in particular, I think it should take more than just gaudy numbers to get into the HoF. And while Peyton's numbers are indeed gaudy, he's consistently achieved a level of success that Brees hasn't. That's the difference to me.

You were hinting that Brees is not a HoFer yet, saying that looking at his stats is pointless.

    Then you say
    .

That's simply not true. I was just disproving what you said. I'd like you to show me ONE year where Kerry was HoF material.
