    e3 kicks off on Monday.

So far It's been rumored MS will announce IPTV on XBL, which would let you watch certain cable tv stations for a price.

Gamespot said the Wii 2 will have 6" Tablet like Touchscreen controllers with built in Camera and can also serve as a portable gaming device.

    Anyone heard anything interesting?

Heres a chart from NPD , this explains why Nintendo was in a hurry to get Wii 2 out the gate.

    360 is still climbing.

MS released this this week in prep of E3.

"Today we announced that by extending the capabilities of the Xbox platform with Kinect and Xbox LIVE, Microsoft has “changed the tail” of the typical console lifecycle, showing dramatic gains in the fifth and sixth years of this generation. (see chart above)

In addition, we’ve released the following data points:

    * Microsoft has now sold 55 million Xbox 360 consoles across 38 countries and sales are accelerating.
    * Xbox 360 maintains its lead in the U.S. as the top selling console in 2011, and ten of the past eleven months.
    * In the first four months of 2011, Xbox 360 has seen a 29 percent year over year increase in sales, which is more than triple the growth of PlayStation 3 and the largest growth of any console on the market.
    * There are now nearly 35 million active Xbox LIVE members worldwide spending an average of almost 60 hours a month on the service.
    * Cumulatively Xbox LIVE members are now logging 2.1 billion entertainment hours a month.

Next week, we’ll be on stage in Los Angeles for our annual E3 Media Briefing, so be sure to tune in for more announcements. "

Why would they brag about games?... Why would any console these days? Cool to see you're still being the PS3 spokesman though.

Anyway- cool that they're finally releasing that TV thing. Wondered whatever happened to it.

So instead of paying the cable company you get to pay Microsoft. What's the point other than it being a novelty? Netflix on gaming consoles was a great idea. Now I don't have to watch an instant stream on a 15" laptop screen. This idea makes no practical sense.

Games? Lol I own both systems. The PS3 is a blu ray player that plays Metal Gear Solid 4. That is it. It just sits there. God of War is nice.

Most everything else is multi platform. XBox does have Gears, Halo, XCOM, Forza and others.

I agree it think it will fail. I dont see it offering all the channels a family household likes for cheaper.

At this point in time, but consoles have plenty of excellent games to choose from. If you don't like the games on a particular console, then I suggest you sell it and buy more games for the console of your choice.
