Eagles fire Jim Washburn

Andy Reid, who brought both Washburn and Howard Mudd in back in 2011, had this to say about the firing of Washburn.
“Jim is a fine football coach and we appreciate the efforts he gave to this team over the past two years,” Reid said. “However, I determined that it was in the team’s best interest that we move in a different direction in terms of trying to maximize the production of that position group. We look forward to having Tommy Brasher back on board to work with the defensive line.”

I would absolutely love to get this guy back - its as they say, one mans garbage is another's gold!

Even though we moved away from the Wide-9 (thank god), his ability to turn no-bodies into stars is forever valued. I also think he is just generally a 'good' personality on the staff, always seems to be 'firing' up the guys.

In the end though, he will probably join Jeff in St. Louis.

Yeah I would like to have him back. Its not like what we've got is working right now anyway. I wouldn't want to go to a wide 9, but he can develop guys on the DL thats for sure.

But I wouldn't be surprised to see him in STL either.
