He's lost the argument. He is the only person out there that think Burnett is better than Berry, other than GT fans and coaches.

Again, the only thing separating the 2 is return yards. Something that is based on a lot of luck and situation as opposed to true skill.
On his highlights you'll see what I mean. 1 he returns for a lobbed hail mary at the end of a half where he didn't see anyone for a mile in to the return.

Don't mention those Jax State picks. Did you see the 2 GIFTS Berry was given vs Arkansas? He didn't even have to be in position, or make a play to get them. Just catch.

Eric Berry is NOT playing in the best OFFENSIVE conference, and that's all that'd matter in this debate.

^From number 1 in the country to number 2 in the state... There's your SEC.

oopsie! Another one against the almighty SEC! Do you really want to do this?

lmao @ 2007 stats. Cool! He started better than Burnett. And Burnett seems to be progressing better. We'll see...

I'll throw another name in here, too:

Because no one really watches football these days. They're all "whatever ESPN says, I think too!".
Funny how everyone admits it until ESPN is on the jock of their favorite. Right, VOLntitan?

I like safeties that COVER and make plays rather than just being a dynamic playmaker.

Those 2 picks he made as a true freshmen? Well if you want to throw those "gifts out"... like I'm sure Burnett never got a gift interception ... Then they equal out in Ints their first year. Of course Berry has way more tackles that season.

:ha: You just talked about a game from 2007!

Berry is a complete player. He hits hard putting fear in defenders and when he gets the ball he's amazing with it.

Burnett is very good. I'm not saying he sucks or anything. But he isn't at the same level as Berry.

And I'm not sure how those Arkansas picks are gifts.. but the Jacksonville state picks aren't?? I know you probably overrate division 2 out of fear... but come on!

You're the one that acted as if the Jax State were "gimmes". So don't try to reverse that on me. I'm saying, all players get gift interceptions, so writing off MB's because he got 2 vs JS isn't fair.
Especially when Berry hasn't gotten a single interception vs a great team. (the closest is Georgia- a team MB also had one against)

Again- arguing with Vols fans about who's best when they have a good player is pointless.

lol, whatever. You tried to make and argument to throw out 2007 stats, when you used stats from 2007 in your argument against Berry. You look foolish.

Yeah, how enlightening, everyone gets gift interceptions. Gee, I never thought of that. :sarcasm:

And why would anyone not consider career stats? Berry's consistency speaks volumes.

Berry is amazing and consensus top player in the country. Burnett is really good.

How do you not consider level of competition? DO you really think the ACC offense is so much better than the SEC? How did Georgia Tech and Burnett do against that crappy SEC offense of LSU in last year's chick-fil-a bowl. 38-3, no ints. Yeah, level of competition is meaningless.

Do you realize you just ranted about me using 2007 stats, then bring up career stats 2 lines later?

Do you even know what you're arguing? For the record- I used 2008 stats until someone used 2007 stats in favor of Berry.

Now, mays is much better than burnett. I'm surprised that you didn't post him sooner.

That said, I wasn't for or against either in that argument, but was pointing out that they are pretty much the same, just one is better at returning the ball and faster.

The berry highlight wasn't an at half hail mary, more like a 3rd qtr pick return to stop florida from going up 35-14. The ACC isn't the best offensive conference either. As a matter of fact, it's been debatable the last few years at years end whether the ACC or the Big East is the worst conference in college football. And that conference's best team - Va tech - has had horrid offense the last few years. The highest ACC offense in fact was Ga Tech at 44, followed by FSU 46. UF, UGA, Ole Miss, and Alabama are all higher than that.

Burnett just seems to have progressed enough to have caught up; the picks and tds still would put berry ahead. Mays plays for USC, so he gets extra mystique added to him.

And if you want to do videos:

And for fun, he also picked off Tim Tebow. Can Burnett say he did that?:)

lmao @ Mays is "much better than Burnett". Wow...

That paired with that overrated hit on Moreno pretty much sums it up: If a guy can hit well, he's a great safety to you. Right?

And yes, the Berry pick was at the half. You can hear the commentator say "Annnnd... that'll end the half". I guess it may have been against South Carolina.

... anyway. Understand, I'm not arguing that Morgan Burnett is BETTER. Just saying he's as good, and he clearly is. He's currently better at everything other than int return yards.

oh ok, you were talking about the South Carolina pick when you said half...and i think you might have meant arkansas? My bad, I confused that with the Florida pick. And you forgot about the hit against the bama WR that gave him a 360 in the air :). That's a much more impressive hit, i just posted the moreno one b/c I didn't see it anywhere else.

I agree with most of your points, but I think the numbers (w/o an extra bowl game to pad some stats) show that they are in almost all categories pretty equal as of right now. My last point was just that a player who not only keeps his coverage extremely well, but gets picks and can return them very well as well (he runs a 4.33 forty, so he's fast) would be a very valuable asset to an NFL team.

And I just want (not for any arugments sake) to post some more vids, so:
