Fisher and Titans Agree to Extension

Fisher had a stretch of 2 seasons and 5 games where he expertly coached this team to a 9-27 record. Why wouldn't there be people wondering if his time at run out here? Since our team has gone 9-4 and everyone loves the guy even though we know #10 is a primary reason for that..

Face it fisher isn't going to take a team with 8-8 talent to the playoffs. He's never done it before. He can take a team with top talent to a 13-3, 12-4 record so we know that if the talent is there he will win. Lately we have had some talent so it is working..

I like that fisher will be back for 4 more years. But please stop talking about him as if he is an elite coach. He's not. Tier 2 but not elite. Let's just hope that MR is elite and gives him several more solid drafts of players..

Fisher is the longest tenured active coach. He's lucky Cowher took himself away from the Steelers. But he probably won't come close to the all time records.

 

You mean like the way he took the 1998 Oilers from 8-8 to 13-3, and the Super Bowl, in 1999?

Maybe the 8-8 98 oilers should have been 9-7 or 10-6. Once again another example of a poster seeing only one side of the coin. Fisher wasn't the mediocre coach who led the 98 oilers to 8-8. no he took over the team and improved them to 13-3. Yeah real smart. Just like it was some other coach who got us to 0-5 last year and fisher heroically brought us back and another coach who got us to 1-4 in 02 and fisher coming in later right?

Moose you are aware that fisher was coach before 99 right?

And anyone with 2 brain cells to put together can see that the 99 team was better. Jevon kearse significantly improved the pass rush and samari rolle went from nickel to a pro bowl caliber corner. Kevin dyson wasn't a rookie any longer and we had 2 easy wins added to the schedule in the expansion browns.

 

You can keep arguing it Roll, but you cannot prove it.

It's not madden and players don't have ratings.

 

98 oilers...

Weak areas...outside speed on the pass rush....wide receiver...

Strong areas...QB....RB....O-line...TE....Front 7 against the run....safety...punter....kicker

Areas of mediocrity....Corners..PR...KR

Maybe 8-8 wasn't an example of great coaching..
