    Wait, what???

You must be confusing Chris Hope with Michael Griffin. Hope did not get a pick against the Eagles and only has 1 on the year which came against the Raiders in week 1.

I didn't realize Griffin was that close to leading the league though. He's definitely back to '08 form.

Exactly. Notice how I mentioned this in my original post.

Sure, it was against the Bills, but if run at the right time and executed correctly it will work every time.

A flea flicker basically does twice the damage to a defense as a perfectly executed play action would. Pretty much the entire defense would be sold on run when they actually see the ball handed off. Like I said before, with CJ, this is a money play.

I did... still though.. my point is that Griffin/Hope > Williams/Thompson

    We've got great safeties...

This is a top 5 secondary we have IMO. If Verner keeps it up, it's gonna be hell for other teams.

We should be looking for an upgrade to Hope next offseason, imo.

Agreed. I don't hate on Hope, but he's been the biggest liability in the secondary this year. If we can find someone to replace him with better ball skills, this secondary could be deadly for years to come.

Antoine Bethea will be a free agent. The Colts would be dummies to not re-sign him... maybe they still love their overrated, always injured safety more though.

Hope's good years are probably behind him while Bethea is in his prime. I'd definitely take Bethea over Hope, but it's highly unlikely.

Bethea is the only true upgrade from Hope, so if we can't get him there's no reason to make a change.

Mike Keith sounded like he thought Robert Johnson would be the eventual replacement for Hope. When talking about why the Titans chose to keep so many safeties this year he said something along the lines of, "Sometimes a guy is just too good to cut."

Robert Johnson or a draft pick. I wouldn't mind spending our first on Hope's replacement. He is out of contract and I imagine he won't be resigned.
