Hasselbeck And His Long Term Future In Tennessee......

    Isn't this Hasselbeck's last season here in Tennessee?

    The reason i'm asking is because i was wondering something....

    Would Matt like to stay here for a few more years and be the number two behind Locker?

    Or if Matt plays well again this season will he leave for big money contract if another team makes him an offer to be starter?


    Thoughts?

    Hasselbeck has two more years on his current contract. He's $5.5M each season.

    If Locker is a solid #1 by the end of this season, I don't see any way the Titans pay $5.5M to a backup if Rusty is anything close to #2 material. If Rusty isn't by the end of this season, I doubt he'll be around for '13.

    If Rusty isn't #2 material, they might re-work Hasselbeck's deal if they wanted to extend it beyond '13. I guess a lot of that would depend on who else was out there and how Hasselbeck is playing by the end of the '12 season.

    I hope he'll stick around for a few and be a backup. Seems like a good guy to have around.

    There is so much wrong associated with this statement. He is 37 yrs. old now, it's not 2005 anymore, QB's don't get better with age. He would not start for any other team in the league. That's reality.

    I like Hasselbeck, I hope he's cool being a back-up. I can't get behind Rusty as a back-up, he's just not that good.

    I don't know if Rusty is #2 material or not and don't know how anyone here can know. We've not seen him in anything but preseason work since the Texans game.
