    Where do you stand on the belief in the occult in the church?

    I know most Protestants, in my experience, seem to dismiss it altogether or the idea is too taboo.

    I had a guy stand in a Sunday school class a few weeks ago and acknowledge that possession happened in the biblical times but God doesn't let Satan do that anymore so nobody has to worry about it in modern times.

    Lol.. God doesn't let Satan do it anymore.. AKA we now know that those "demons that cause seizures" are just a brain malfunction like epilepsy. And schizophrenia, etc.

    It's funny how people will make excuses when their beliefs don't match up with their modern knowledge.
    Every serious mental illness would have been called a literal demon possession back then.

    I guess God just doesn't allow speaking in tongues or raising the dead anymore. Either.
