QBs and others will be wearing red shirts over their jerseys soon.

It's a really shitty angle to look at the block. To me it actually looks like he puts his head to the side, tries to lead with his shoulder to the chest and the contact to the jaw is accidental. I wouldn't call it. Players can't just detach the head from their bodies when using their shoulders to block or tackle.

And unlike a defender making a tackle, he doesn't have the option of going low, so the only area you can now forcefully block someone on special teams is the abdomen??

And I don't care for special protection for players when they're not in an exposed position (ie. kicking, throwing or catching).

Goodell just announced that, in the future, punters must trot off the field after the ball is punted. To offset any disadvantage for not having the punter available to be a possible tackler, the receiving team will only be allowed to have 10 men on the field.

Same jersey but with a huge neon horizontal stripe just above their number marking the top of their strike zone.

We really should go back to no facemasks and soft helmets if the NFL wants to avoid intentional helmet to helmet/facemask hits.

Nobody will truck a dude if his own head/face is at risk. Besides, the PADDING in teh helmet is designed to absorb hits from the posterior and sides. The hard shell crown protection is really only good to deflect other hard shell helmets.

Sounds crazy but it is the only way I see to manage their goals of reduced concussions.

If you hadn't put the sarcasm icon I would've totally bought it. Sounds about like something he would do.

Given the number of people that get concussions in other sports, I think the no real helmet thing is a terrible idea. Helmetless head smacking the turf on a tackle or a dive for a ball is going to be a concussion.
