I don't think the words "second-round" and "gamble" belong in the same sentence.

  2. Yes, but Jennings had a 201 yard game against Stephen F Austin. That's the only reason he had a 4.3 YPC. If you throw out that game from the team's stats, Henry had a significantly higher YPC than Jennings (which would have been less than 3.3 YPC).

Regardless of what we think or see in Henry, the titans like him. Mike Keiths blog stated that our rb coach would not have gushed about him the way he did if he didnt believe in him. That should be worth a little consideration.

    Ok then starkiller..

We'll throw out the jennings game and also the oregon game henry had. In fact let's remove the top 15 games bell had in his career and see if that brings him down to henry's level.

  5. I'm merely removing the Stephen F Austin game because of the level of competition. All their other games came against major conference teams. So outside of that game (in which Henry did not play), Henry still had a better average than Jennings.

I have no way of comparing Henry to Bell. Arizona was not the same team in 2006 as they were in 2005. We don't know how Bell would have done in 2006 behind their OLine, or how Henry would have done in 2005 had he been the starter.

This guy is a true replacement for our team. He even has the the first name of one of our old rb and the last. That has to count for something.

    Starkiller...

Bell was a starter for 3 seasons and never sucked like that. He managed over 900 yards per and his worst season was far better than henry's best. Same coaching staff as well. Please don't write as if bell was in some RBs paradise while poor little henry(shall we use the French pronunciation?) played for a crap team in a crap system.

You give a guy the ball and tell him to get all the yards he can. We used a second rd pick on a guy who didn't get many yards. If we wanted to take a "gamble" then bush in the third might have made more sense at least he was a player.

Roll is right. Arizona runs a bad system; it was nothing new for Henry in '06. There may have been other issues, a preference among the coaching staff to use Bell and Jennings to fill the system (after all, both Jennings and Bell are different types of players.)

Bottom line, Henry had a poor college output, and I don't think it ALL had to do with ability. HOWEVER, RB is one of the rare positions where if a player can't play, you'll know fairly quickly 9 times out of 10. There won't be that much time for development, so we should know if Henry can be a good back or not fairly soon into his career (i.e. after this season or next).

You can't say since he wasn't productive in college he won't be in the NFL. Theres been guys just the opposite who were phenomonal runners in college and suck in the NFL. Ex: Ki-jana Carter. Give him a shot he has all the physical attributes needed and is a competitive and hard-working kid who is very nice and well-mannered when on the NFL network.

    Lets look at some stats:

    Fumbles 0 in 355 carries and 24 rec's.
21 rec's last year for 197 yds 1 td long of 29 and 9.4 avg.
carries 165 for 581 yds 7 tds long of 61 yds 3.5 avg

Top Game vs. Oregon 29 carries for 191 yds and 2 tds 1 rec for 21 yds and 1 td

Worst game vs. USC 2 carries for -8 yds or LSU 6 carries for 2 yds

5-1 when he has atleast 13 carries or more.

Yes he got shutdown on some other games but got more productive as the year progressed.

He has what it takes but his team's lack of passing offense and no o-line caused him to run into a wall time after time. Look at the USC and LSU game they couldn't do a thing so he got no carries because they were losing so badly. Lack of team talent hurt him badly. If he learns to be a bit mor epacient he will be special and it can be taught ask Willie Parker.
