    yea I read that when it was news, but still think any change in ownership would get Goodells attention, we're not special in any way to get preferential treatment

    I'm not saying preferential treatment at all.
    If there was an ownership rift amongst the inheriting parties (which given the Adams family is pretty likely) the NFL has acute interest in keeping the team functional.
    If Tom Benson died tomorrow I see Goodell showing the same keen interest in movements - because of similarities in family succession and a potential to disrupt the money machine -whereas say Mike Brown dies tomorrow you don't see this headline anywhere.

    Football family has no bearing when it comes to a power struggle. It's squarely in proper proper succession planning - which can be a very difficult subject for some folks to address (for obvious reasons) leaving such matters to be fought out after the person(s) die..
